Limelight offers a range of LARC methods:
An IUD is a small T-shaped plastic and copper device that’s put into your womb (uterus) by a doctor or nurse.
It releases copper to stop you from getting pregnant and protects against pregnancy for between 5 and 10 years. It’s sometimes called a “coil” or “copper coil”.
An IUS is a small, T-shaped plastic device that’s put into your womb (uterus) by a doctor or nurse.
It releases the hormone progestogen to stop you from getting pregnant and lasts for 3 to 5 years, depending on the brand.

A small plastic rod inserted under the skin of your arm, releasing progestogen. Effective for 3 years.
Who can get LARC at Limelight?
Most of our female patients are eligible for LARC methods. Discuss your options with one of our GPs in a family planning appointment.
How to book a LARC fitting appointment at Limelight
You can book your LARC fitting appointment through our online messaging service called Accurx, this is the quickest and easiest way to get in touch with us and you will get a response usually on the same day.
- Click the green Book Appointment button at the top of this webpage.
- Click ‘Sign up or login to Consult your GP’
- Click ‘Sign up as a new user’ OR ‘Login existing user’
- Once you are fully registered you can write your request to book
- Let us know if you have any preference for the date and time.
- You will receive a response usually on the same day.
If you are unable to use AskmyGP then please phone us on 0161 226 7777 and book your coil fitting appointment with someone on our reception team.
If you would prefer to book your LARC fitting appointment in person then please come down to the practice and ask to speak with reception.

- We have regular LARC fitting and removal clinics, typically on the last Friday morning of each month. Please specify your needs when booking.
